The Phantom extension button light shows the current status as follows:
Off: Idle
Red on: You are calling a phantom extension.
Flashing green: Incoming call

To set ringing or not, refer to "Customising Your Phone".

Create or re-arrange a Phantom extension button.

Off-hook or 
press Phantom.
