This heartbeat is useful to:

Show Medio L40 readers connected to the same physical network as the host.

Check that a Medio L40 reader is operating properly (in this case, the heartbeat acts as a
watchdog).

5.2.3 Telnet
The telnet server applies to 10/100 Ethernet interface only. A host can connect to the reader using
any standard telnet client. The Telnet server makes it possible to configure the microsystem only
(serial port configuration, TCP/IP stack configuration, date/time configuration, version query…).

5.2.4 Serial console
The serial console applies to RS-232 and USB interfaces only. A host can connect to the reader
