Optical fiber cables are being used on an increasingly wider
front for horizontal wiring systems and especially for ”collapsed
backbones”, where wiring is run directly from the main
distribution panel into the various floors without disribution
panels on each storey.
Normally, the cable installer requires either splicing
equipment or termination kits when installing optical
fiber cables. This equipment is expensive, and assembly
on-site is time-consuming.
As an alternative, Telegärtner offers the TICNET system of
factory-made FO cable assemblies for installation in cable ducts
and manholes.
Where cable lengths, cable and fiber-types are known, the
installer can obtain a wiring system, pre-assembled under
factory conditions, which can be installed into conduits, ducts
and manholes without risk of damage using the rugged non-
crush drawing-in tube. When this has been done, all that is
left to do is to attach the connector to the adapter in the
distribution panel or wall outlet; these are also available,
completely equipped with corresponding adaptors.
Performance Characteristics
•  Ready-to-install optical-fiber cable runs with cables to
IEC 60794-1 and design to DIN/VDE 0888; with halogen-
free, flame retardant jacket
•  with between 4 and 48 fibers G50/125 and G62,5/125

to IEC 60793 in different link classes.
•  with assembled splitters and non-crush pulling tube
•  with connector types ST, SC, SC Duplex, MT-RJ, LC, FC/PC,
DIN, F-SMA
•  patch panels for 19”or wall distribution panels, and wall
outlets to complement the system
•  test certification showing insertion loss
•  15 years guarantee on the system
