For fresh and salt water
1 Fill the pipe up to the mark with the test water.
2 Slowly allow the indicator solution to drop in with
continual swivelling.
3 Count the drops until the colour change from blue
to yellow is complete.
Calculation:
Indicator drops x 0.5 = CH (°dH)
Indicator drops x 0.5 = CH (°dH)
A drop of indicator solution equals 0.5°dH.
Evaluation:
• If the determined value is 5°dH or more, the carbon
• If the determined value is 5°dH or more, the carbon
hardness is sufficient.
• If the value is below 5°dH the carbon hardness is
too low.
