9. CHARGING OPERATION
•  Make sure that the rechargeable battery type switch (8) is according to the rechargeable
battery you wish to charge; adjust if necessary.
  Caution, important!

LiFe rechargeable batteries have a lower cell voltage than LiPo rechargeable
batteries. For this reason, it is imperative that the switch is set correctly and is not
adjusted during charging. This is the only way to ensure that the different recharge-
able battery types are charged correctly without being damaged.
•  Use the charging current switch (4) to set the required charging current (1 A, 2 A, or 3 A).
  Caution!

Always follow the rechargeable battery manufacturer‘s instructions concerning the
max. charging current.

The max. charging and discharge current are indicated by the capacity value „C“.
If no manufacturer‘s instructions are available, charge LiPo rechargeable batteries
with a maximum charging current of 1C. This means that the charging current may
not exceed the capacity value printed on the rechargeable battery (e.g. rechargeab-
le battery capacity 1000 mAh, max. charging current 1000 mA = 1 A).

Exceeding the maximum charging current poses a risk of destroying the recharge-
able battery. And this also poses a risk of fire and explosion!

Please review the rechargeable battery‘s data sheets or labeling for more informati-
on on the max. charging current.
Please note that the charger‘s charging capacity does not exceed 20 W. A charging
current of 3 A can be reached only up to a charging voltage of approx. 6.66 V.

If a higher charging voltage is required, the charging current decreases according to the
maximum output.
•  Connect the banana plugs on the charging cable you use to the two sockets (7) on the
charger. Heed correct polarity: red = positive (+) and black = negative (-).
