Explanation of Symbols, Inscriptions

The symbol of the lightning bolt indicates a health hazard, e.g. electric shock.
This symbol indicates specific risks associated with handling, function and use.
The “hand” symbol represents special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
Read the complete operating manual carefully before using the product, as it contains
important information about the correct installation and operation.

Damages due to failure following these operating instructions will void the warranty! We
do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!

We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will be void in such cases!

 •   For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modification to the product is not
permitted.

•  The LED robe light cannot be shortened.

•   The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children! There is danger of a
life-threatening electric shock!

•   The product may be operated only on the mains voltage (see section “Technical Data”). Never
try to operate the product at another voltage, as this will cause its destruction.

•   The product is designed to comply with protection class I; connection is via an IP44 European
earthed power plug.

For outdoor use, a suitable power socket conforming to protection type IP44 is absolutely neces-
sary. This power outlet must have a residual current circuit breaker (RCD) with a tripping current
of <= 30 mA.

•  The mains socket where the product will be plugged in must be easily accessible.

•   Also, extension cables that may be used must be suitable for the use in outdoor areas. Make
sure that the plug connection is never placed in or under water, e.g., in puddles or in areas
where water might accumulate during rain or flooding!

•   The product’s design complies with IP44; it can be installed and used indoors and outdoors.
However, never install the product on or inside vehicles.

Never operate the product in or under water; this will destroy it. Furthermore, this could cause
a lethal electric shock!

•   The product must not be installed and used in areas at risk of flooding. The same applies to
areas (e.g., hollow places) where rainwater can accumulate.

•   Do not use this product in rooms that are under adverse environmental conditions where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explosion!

•  Do not attach any objects (e.g. decorative material) to the product.

•   Caution, LED light: Do not look directly into the LED light! Do not look into the beam directly
or with optical instruments!

•   The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy me-
chanical stress.

•  Protect the product from sharp edges.

•  Do not drive over or step on the product.

•   Take care that during installation the LED light rope won’t be damaged; never use nails or
screws to fasten the LED light rope. Danger of electric shock!

•  Do not pull the power plug from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.

•   A damaged power cable cannot be replaced. In that case, dispose of the product in an envi-
ronmentally responsible way.

•   Check the product for any damage before each use. Do not use the product if you notice any
damage.

•   If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be turned off
and precautions must be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally. After this, arrange
for an expert to check the product.

Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:

  -  the product shows visible signs of damage

  -   The product does not work at all or works poorly (where there is flickering light, leaking smoke
or a burning smell, audible crackling noises, or discolouration to the product or to adjacent
surfaces)

  -  the device no longer works

  -  the device has been stored under adverse conditions for a long time

  -  it was exposed to heavy loads during transport

Do not touch the product when it is in operation and you have noticed damages; this could
result in a lethal danger due to electric shock! Switch off the power supply to the power outlet
where the LED rope light is plugged in. To do this, first disconnect the related circuit breaker
(or remove the fuse); then the corresponding residual current circuit breaker must be switched
off. Now you can remove the LED rope light from the power socket.

•   In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s Liability In-
surance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed.

•   If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our technical
service or other specialist.
Mounting and start-up
Please observe the chapter “Safety Instructions”!
•   Lay out the LED rope light at the location of your choice. Use cable ties, for example, to fix it into place.
•   Plug the safety power plug of the LED rope light into an appropriate safety socket outlet.
If the LED rope light is used outdoors, the LED rope light may only be connected to an IP44 power socket.
•  Immediately after the LED rope light is connected to the mains, the LEDs will light up.
•   If you do not use the product any longer, disconnect the power plug from the power socket. Keep the LED
rope light in a dry, clean, frost-protected place, and out of the reach of children.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any reason.
Before cleaning the product, disconnect the mains voltage; unplug the power plug from the power socket.
For cleaning, a dry, clean, soft cloth is sufficient. Do not use aggressive cleansers, as this may cause discol-
ouration or may have a negative impact on the material of the LED rope light.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong in household waste!!

Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
