a) General
•  Unauthorized modifications and/or alterations to the product are not permitted due to safety and
approval reasons (CE). Do not open/dismantle it!
•  The product features a class I design. It may only be connected to and operated by a socket with
protective earth contact (e.g. wall socket).
•  This product is not a toy, keep it out of the reach of children. Install the product in such a way that
children cannot reach it.
•  The plug-in socket is equipped with a child lock.
Only  when  the  two  pins  of  a  mains  plug  are  simultaneously  inserted  into  both  openings  of  the
socket on front of the plug-in socket will the built-in mechanism release the openings.

Still exercise caution when using the product in the vicinity of children. Children cannot recognize
the hazards posed by improperly using the device. This poses a risk of fatal injury due to electric
shock!
•  Do  not  leave  packaging  materials  lying  about,  they  may  become  a  dangerous  plaything  in  the
hands of children.
•  Handle the product with care; impacts, blows or falling from even low heights can cause damage.

b) Location
•  The product may be operated in dry, closed indoor spaces only. It must not get damp or wet!

Never install the product in the near vicinity of bathrooms, showers, swimming pools etc. There is
a risk of fatal electric shock!
•  Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight or strong vibrations.
•  Use in spaces with a great amount of dust, with flammable gases, vapors or solvents is not permit-
ted. There is a danger of fire and explosion!

c) Use and operation
•  Never touch, use, plug in or unplug the product with moist or wet hands. This poses a risk of fatal
injury due to electric shock! The same applies to the mains plug of the load connected to the socket
of the product.
•  Never connect the product to the mains directly after moving it from a cold to a warm room (i.e.
during transportation). Condensation occurring while doing so could damage the product or cause
an electric shock!

Let the product first reach room temperature. Wait until all condensation has evaporated – this may
take up to several hours. You may only then connect the product to the mains and start using it.
•  Always hold the designated surface when pulling the mains plug from the plug-in socket. Never
pull the cable when disconnecting plugs from the socket of the product.
•  Do not overload the product. Observe the maximum permissible connecting power as provided
under “Technical data”.
•  Do not connect in series! That could cause overloading of the plug-in socket!! This poses a fire
hazard!
•  Do not operate when covered! Higher connecting power causes the plug-in socket to warm up,
which could result in overheating and even fire if the product is covered!
•  Zero potential only if plug is disconnected!
•  Do not use the product if damaged. This poses a risk of fatal injury due to electric shock!

If damaged, dispose of the product in an environmentally friendly manner.

Safe operation is no longer guaranteed when:

-  the product shows obvious damage

-  the product does not function properly or at all (emitting smoke or burnt smell, audible cracking
noise, discoloration of the product or adjacent surfaces)

-  serious stress during transport has occurred.
•  Always unplug the plug-in socket from the mains (e.g. wall socket) before cleaning or when not
using it for a longer period of time (e.g. during storage).
•  Never pour liquids above or near the product. This poses a great risk of fire or fatal injury due to
electric shock.

If for any reason liquid has entered the interior of the product, immediately disconnect the power
supply  of  the  connecting  mains  socket  (e.g.  turn  off  the  fuse/safety  device/ground  fault  circuit
interrupter of the respective circuit). Do only then disconnect the plug-in socket from the mains
socket and consult an expert. Discontinue use of the product.
•  For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations for electrical sys-
tems and equipment of the government safety organization or the corresponding authority for your
country.
