Two 16550-compliant UART controllers are available:

• UART0  (COM1)
• UART1  (COM2)

The circuitry is in the core power well.

Each UART interface has 12 registers mapped into the 8-byte addresses in the I/O 

address space.

• COM1 - 0x3F8-0x3FF
• COM2 - 0x2F8-0x2FF

They use the legacy IRQ#3 and IRQ#4 for interrupts which are sent to the integrated 

8259 Programmable Interrupt Controller (PIC).

• COM1 - IRQ4
• COM2 - IRQ3

Only Transmit Data (TXD) and Receive Data (RXD) interface signals are supported.
