The trimming margin base line position is the distance from the edge knife position to the right edge of the sewing
pattern.
By moving the trimming margin base line position, the sewing pattern can be moved sideways within the maximum
zigzag width range. This sets the width of the trimming margin.

If the trimming margin base line has been set to a value other than the minimum value, the indicator 

w will always

illuminate while sewing is in progress, so that you can easily check if the trimming margin base line position has been
changed from the minimum value.

1. Press the trimming margin base line position key 

q.

The indicator 

w will illuminate and the current trim-

ming margin base line position setting will appear in
the LED display 

e.

(For example, 

AA AA

 indicates that the trimming mar-

gin pattern is 2.0 mm.)

2. Press the 

쑶 and 쑴 selection keys r to change the

value for the trimming margin base line position.
• The minimum trimming margin setting is 1.5 mm

(factory default setting is 2.0 mm).

• The maximum trimming margin setting depends on

the zigzag width setting. (Refer to the explanation
at the bottom of this page.)

If the needle bar is at the needle up stop position, the
needle bar will move to the sewing start position when
the trimming margin base line position setting is
changed.
If the needle bar is not at the needle up stop position,
the needle bar will move to the sewing start position
after it next moves to the needle up stop position.

If the trimming margin base line position is 

AA AA

, the zigzag width can be set to a maximum of 4.5 mm. (Figure A)

If the trimming margin base line position has been set to 

AA AA

, the zigzag width can be set to a maximum of 3.5

mm. (Figure B)
If the zigzag width has been set to 

AA AA

, the trimming margin base line position can be set to a maximum of 4.5

mm. (Figure C)
