3-3. Character Display Function
This unit has the built-in character generation circuit. The
character information such as the settings, state and self-
diagnosis of the unit can be mixed with the HD SDI video
signal and the SD video signal. The mixed signal can be
output from the MONI OUT (DRX-1 board output) and the
PIX OUT (RC-91 board output) connector respectively.
They can be displayed on the HD monitor and the SD
analog monitor.
The character MIX function can be forcibly turned OFF by
turning OFF S206-4 (HD SDI) on the DRX-1 board or
S10-8 (SD SDI) on the RC-91 board.

Operating procedure
In order to show the setting, the state and the self-diagnosis
display on the HD monitor and the SD analog monitor,
press the CHARACTER button of the RCP so that the
button lights, or operate the CHARACTER switch on the
panel surface of the DRX-1 board.
To change the page, press the CHARACTER button of the
RCP. The page can also be changed by pressing the
CHARACTER switch on the panel surface of the DRX-1
board panel.
When the CHARACTER button of the RCP (or CHAR-
ACTER switch on the panel surface of the DRX-1 board)
is kept pressed, the pages are changed continuously. After
all the pages are displayed, the cycling display stops on the
final page and the CHARACTER button of the RCP goes
off. To display the character information again, press the
CHARACTER button of the RCP.

The first page is blank. When selecting the first page, the
display of characters is OFF.
