Select the next or previous 

channel. Select the next or 

previous chapter on some 

DVD players and page up or 

down while viewing the Guide 

on a DIRECTV receiver.
Recall the last channel being 

viewed on the selected device.
Start the media on your game 

console or Media Center PC.
Turn the sound on or off for 

the selected device
Control the basic functions of 

your DVR, DVD, VCR, or VOD 

event (if available through 

your Cable or Satellite 

provider).
Control the skip back and 

skip forward function of your 

DVR, DVD, or VCR.
Turn backlight on and off.

Directly enter channels (for 

example, 09 or 206) to be 

viewed. 

Directly input channel 

numbers on some TVs or 

make a selection in the 

devices menu.
Cycle through the available 

inputs of the selected device.
