The default parameters of the transparent data port agree with the most commonly used settings,

to program the unit through HyperTerminal.
Or, it can be set to Transparent, which allows
control of devices such as a digital video recorder
(DVR) or pan/tilt/zoom camera, etc. When set to
Transparent PelcoNet cannot be accessed through
HyperTerminal.
Baudrate

Select any transmission rate from 300 to 19200 baud.
Data bits
8
Select the number of data bits (7 or 8) per character.
Parity
None
Select the type of parity check (Odd, Even, or None).
Stop bits

Select the number of stop bits (1 or 2) per character.
RS232/485
RS232
Select the required protocol for the port.
Halfduplex mode
off
If you choose this RS-485 mode, camera control data
is transferred automatically to the control port, which
is a serial interface on the unit’s rear panel to which
you can connect a PC. This mode supports flow
control.
NOTE:  In the “on” or “buffered” mode, transparent
data is rerouted to the control terminal port; terminal
functions are provided on the transparent data port.
