The USB key is required for first entry power-up of the RMX.3Installing the RMX36 You can install it either in a rack or place it on a flat surface:37 Connect the following cables to the RMX rear panel:3First Entry Power-up48 Insert the USB key with the modified IP addresses in the USB port on the front panel.49 Power the RMX ON. The parameters in the lan.cfg file are uploaded from the USB key to the RMX’s memory and applied during the power-up sequence.410 Remove the USB key.4Product Registration and Activation Key Retrieval41 Using a Web browser, connect to http://portal.polycom.com.42 Login with your Email Address and Password or register as a new user.43 Select the Product Registration link.44 Follow the on-screen instructions for Product Registration and Product Activation. (The RMX’s serial number is on a sticker on the back of the unit, if needed.)45 Write down the Product Activation Key number or copy it for later use.4Connecting to the MCU51 Start the RMX Web Client application on the workstation by entering in the browser’s address line the IP Address of the control unit as defined in the USB key in the format: http://<Control Unit IP Address> and pressing Enter.53 In the Activation Key field, enter or paste the Product Activation Key retrieved earlier and click OK.5Configuring the IP Network Service51 In the Fast Configuration Wizard - IP dialog box, define the following parameters:62 Click Next.63 In the Fast Configuration Wizard - Routes dialog box, enter the IP address of the default router.64 Click Next.65 Enter the required DNS information in the dialog box.67 In the Fast Configuration Wizard - Environment dialog box, select the IP Network Type: H.323, SIP or H.323 & SIP.78 Click Next.711 Click Next.813 In the Fast Configuration Wizard - SIP dialog box, enter the following information:915 Enter the required Security information in the dialog box.916 Click the Save & Continue button.1017 Define the following parameters:1018 Click Next.1119 In the PRI Settings dialog box, define the following parameters:1120 Click Next.1221 In the Span Definition dialog box, define the following parameters:1226 Optional. The RMX confirms successful configuration.1634 In the Success Message box, click OK.1635 In the Reset Confirmation dialog box, click Yes.16User Definition17To add a new user to the system:171 In the RMX Management pane, click the Users option. The Users pane appears.172 Click the New User button or right-click anywhere in the pane and then click New User.173 In the User Name text box, enter the name of the new user. This is the login name used by the user when logging into the system.174 In the Password text box, enter the new user’s password.
