    Cisco ADE 2130 and 2140 Series Appliance Power
conductor should be connected to the appliance studs with a closed two-hole crimp terminal. The ground 
conductor provides proper grounding only for the appliance. You must provide additional, proper 
grounding for the rack.
Grounding Connections
To ensure the appliance chassis ground connection is adequate, you will need the following parts and 
tools:
10-to-14 AWG copper ground wire (insulated or noninsulated)
Wire-stripping tool for stripping both 10- to 14-AWG copper ground wire
Crimping tool as specified by the ground lug manufacturer
Torque wrench
Caution
Before making connections to the Cisco ADE 2130 and 2140 Series appliance, ensure that you 
disconnect the power at the circuit breaker. Otherwise severe injury or damage to the appliance may 
result.
Warning
This equipment must be grounded. Never defeat the ground conductor or operate the equipment in the 
absence of a suitably installed ground conductor. Contact the appropriate electrical inspection 
authority or an electrician if you are uncertain that suitable grounding is available.

To ground the Cisco ADE 2130 and 2140 Series appliance:
Step 1
Locate the two 10-32 ground studs on the appliance rear panel. (See location 3 in

Step 2
Remove the ground-lug nuts from the studs.
Step 3
Set the nuts aside.
Step 4
If your ground wire is insulated, use a wire-stripping tool to strip the 10-AWG ground wire for the 
ground lug. (See
