This section describes the VWICS that are available for use in the MRP card and 
the ASI81 card:

The VWIC-1MFT-T1 card is a one-port, RJ-48 multiflex trunk T1 interface card 
that supports 24 channels (see 

). The VWIC-2MFT-T1 card is a 

two-port, RJ-48 multiflex trunk T1 interface card that supports 48 channels (see 

). Use the cards for the following applications:

Data: As a WIC for T1/fractional T1 applications. The card integrates a fully 
managed CSU/DSU.

Packet voice: As a VIC for the Digital T1 Packet Voice Trunk Network 
Module to provide T1 connections to PBXs and central offices (COs), 
enabling new services and reducing voice/fax toll charges.

Multiplexed voice/data: As a dual-port T1with integrated CSU/DSUs, 
reducing the complexity and number of network components and easing 
migration to bandwidth-efficient packet voice.

The following configuration guidelines apply to the VWIC-1MFT-T1 and 
VWIC-2MFT-T1 cards:

Each MRP supports a maximum of two T1 spans.

Each MRP supports a maximum of one T1 voice span.

Each MRP supports a maximum of one T1 data span.

When one VWIC-1MFT-T1 card is used for data, it supports 24 
simultaneous data connections.

When one VWIC-2MFT-T1 card is used for a T1 voice span, it can 
support up to 24 simultaneous voice connections.

Each VWIC card supports a maximum of one channelized T1 group for data.
