Setting DN2 (U interface) or MSN2 (S/T interface)
The second DN/MSN can be used as a data channel. Follow these steps to set the second Directory Number:

Select Configure ISDN from the Main Menu on the terminal emulation program to reach the ISDN
parameter menu.

Select DN2 or MSN2 from the Configure ISDN menu. If a previous DN2/MSN2 number was stored,
the display shows that number. If no DN2/MSN2 number was stored, the display is blank.

Enter the second DN for the Office Module, up to 15 digits in length.

Press Enter to accept the change.
7 digit and 10 digit DNs
If a DN is not entered in correctly you will not be able to receive incoming calls. Ensure the correct 7 digit or
10 digit DN is entered. Certain regions require 10 digit dialing to successfully complete local calling, this
also can apply for ISDN data calls.

S/T interface and MSNs
For an S/T interface, the MSN configuration is NOT mandatory. However, various conditions determine
when MSN1 and/or MSN2 must be set.

A general rule is: If you are using more than one B channel and want to receive a call on the second B chan-
nel then you should program both MSNs.

On an S/T interface you may have up to 8 devices sharing the same physical line interface. If this is the case,
and you are using only digital phone extension, you must program a TEI and a MSN1. You must program

Setting the TEI Type
The Terminal Endpoint Identifier (TEI) provides identification of the communication device to the Central
Office (CO).

We recommend that you leave the TEI setting on Auto if your service provider has not provided you with a
