Configuring the Office Module
Configuring the COM Port
This option allows you to change the speed of the RS232 port.
1.
From the Main Menu select Configure Data.
2.
From the Configure Data menu select COM 1. The following sub-menu appears:

Data Rate
•
Parity
•
Data Bits
•
Stop Bits
•
Exit
Note: All COM port settings should be configured at one time.
Note: The COM Port uses hardware flow control to manage the data throughput. Ensure that the cables and
network hardware you use have the proper hardware flow control connections to prevent data loss.

Note: The default 9600, 8, N, 1 settings are required when accessing the programming menu after the 8 Yel-

Setting Data Rate
To change Data Rate, select Data Rate menu item from COM1 menu.

Highlight the data rate you want. Data rate options are: 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, 38.4, 57.6, or 115.2 kbps

Press Enter.

Press the hot key of the data rate you want. When you make your selection, you return to the COM1
menu.

Setting Parity
To change Parity select Parity menu item from COM1 menu.

Highlight the Parity you want and press Enter. Your choices are None, Even or Odd.

Setting Data Bits
To change Data Bit select Data Bit menu item from COM1 menu.

Highlight the desired Data Bit and press Enter. Your two options are 8 or 7 data bits.
