In 3Com router, 

interface-num

 is interface number. ATM interface number is 

identified by the two-dimensional address (port-adapter/port-number) composed 
of card number and port number. For the specific method, refer to the router 
installation manual. Before configuration, please follow the procedures in the 
following table to enter ATM main interface (or create and enter the ATM 
subinterface).

By default, subinterfaces are configured as Point to Multipoint.

According to the need of practical networking and system running, it is necessary 
for some parameters of ATM interfaces to be modified. Note: although these 
parameters could apply to both ATM main interfaces and subinterfaces, they can 
only be modified in ATM Main Interface View.
