Normal:

 The FTP server writes the data to the flash memory during the file 

transfer. This means that the occurrence of some abnormal conditions such as 
power failure might cause the damage of the files in the flash memory of the 
Router. But the normal updating mode consumes less memory.

Perform the following in the System View.

The updating mode of FTP server defaults to 

fast

In order to safeguard against the illegal access from unauthorized users, the 
connection with a FTP client will be disconnected if no service request from the 
client has been received for a certain period of time. 

Perform the following in the System View.

For example, configure the timeout of the FTP server to 20 minutes.

After the above configuration, execute the 

 command in any view to 

display the running of the FTP server after configuration, and to verify the effect of 
the configuration.

The

 command will display the configuration of the current 

FTP server, including maximum number of users that the server can support and 
timeout. The 

 command will display the specific information of 

log-on FTP users.

FTP Client is an additional function of the router system available for the users. It 
provides no configuration function and is an application module. The user can 
connect to a remote server as an FTP client and enter FTP client commands to 
perform corresponding operations, for example, to create or delete a directory.
