RESETTING THE OIL MAINTENANCE LIGHT

  If more than one code was retrieved press the DTC button, as 
necessary, to display additional codes one at a time.

Whenever the Scroll function is used to view additional codes, 
the diagnostic tool’s communication link with the vehicle’s 
computer disconnects. To re-establish communication, press the 
POWER/LINK 
 button again.

  When the last retrieved DTC has been displayed and the DTC button is 
pressed, the diagnostic tool returns to the “Priority” code.

To exit the enhanced mode, press the M button. The diagnostic 
tool returns to the Main Menu. 
RESETTING THE OIL MAINTENANCE LIGHT 
Refer to VEHICLE APPLICATIONS – MAKES COVERED on 
page 85 for vehicle makes covered. 
1.
  While linked to the vehicle, press the M 
button.

The Main Menu displays. 
2.
  Use the UP 
 and  DOWN 
 buttons, 
as necessary, to highlight Oil Reset
then press the ENTER 
 button.

The Oil Reset screen displays. 
„
 
If the vehicle under test is equipped 
with a navigation system, use the UP 
 and  DOWN 
 buttons,  as 
necessary, to highlight Yes, then 
press the ENTER 
 button  to 
continue.

If the vehicle under test is now equipped with a navigation 
system, use the UP 
 and DOWN 
 buttons, as necessary, to 
highlight No, then press the ENTER 
 button to continue. 
If the Scan Tool cannot reset the 
Oil Maintenance Light, an “instruc-
tional” dialog displays, showing 
the manual procedures for reset-
ting the indicator light. Use the UP 
 and DOWN 
 buttons to view 
the entire procedure. When fi-
nished, press the M  button to 
return to the Main Menu.

  The Reset Oil Maintenance Indicator screen displays.
