GMT Offsets
In the GUI, you can specify the time zone using a GMT offset if you choose. GMT offset refers to the
time difference, in hours, between the local time and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). GMT is the current
local time in Greenwich, UK, which is located at the Prime Meridian. Hours preceded by a minus sign
(“-”) are east of the Prime Meridian. A plus sign (“+”) indicates west of the Prime Meridian.

For example, the GMT offset for New York City is +5. There are five hours difference between local time
in New York City and GMT. New York City is west of the Prime Meridian. Adding five hours to the local
time in New York City gives you GMT.
