Warning
Install only Cisco IOS Release 15.3(3)JA1 and newer releases on Cisco Aironet Universal Access 
Point models. Do not install older Cisco IOS releases on Cisco Aironet Universal Access Point models 
as that is a violation of local radio regulations and laws.

Introduction
The Cisco access point is a wireless LAN transceiver that acts as the connection point between wireless 
and wired networks or as the center point of a standalone wireless network. In large installations, the 
roaming functionality provided by multiple access points enables wireless users to move freely 
throughout the facility while maintaining uninterrupted access to the network. 
New Features and Platforms in this Release
This release impacts only the Cisco Aironet 1570 Series APs with -B regulatory domain and meet the 
following criteria:
The Cisco 1570 APs that are made available on or after June 2, 2016, for the USA region
The Cisco 1570 APs that are identified with version ID 02 (V02)
This release ensures that Cisco 1570 APs that are made available to customers in the USA are in 
compliance with the new FCC rules that come into effect on June 2, 2016. Therefore, for customers who 
meet the above criteria, we recommend that you upgrade to release 15.3(3)JA9.
There are no other updates in this release. The following customers are not required to update to this 
release:
Customers who do not use Cisco 1570 APs and/or are not in the USA region.
