Note
The upgrade.sh should be executed in RN NCOS shell and upgrade.bat in RN Windows after accessing 
it using RDC.
Note
It is recommended to reboot the appliance after upgrade to allow some security vulnerability patches 
(like openssl) to be successfully applied.
Compatibility Matrix
Cisco MXE 3500, v3.5 on the Cisco MXE 3500 V3 appliance is compatible with these 
Capture-Transform-Share product releases:
Obtain and Install the Release v3.5.2 License
Existing users of MXE3500 v3.5 need not to reinstall any separate license after upgrading to v3.5.2.
New License can be generated as like it was for v3.3.x and v3.5. Please refer Install License section of 
3.3.2 & 3.5 release notes for further information.
If you already have a Graphics license, an upgrade license is not required to use bumpers, trailers, and 
watermarks. If you do not have a Graphics license, obtain and install a Graphics license to use bumpers, 
trailers, and watermarks. Follow the steps detailed in the “Deploying License Features,” section of the 
 on Cisco.com to obtain and install a 
license. 
Before You Begin
You must have the following to obtain a license:
The Cisco MXE 3500 License Host ID.
Note
For clustered deployments, use the same License Host ID for registering the RM and each RN 
in your installation.
