Using the Cisco IAC 4.3.1 Management Appliance
Configuring the Management Appliance
1.
Type 1.
(1) Setup: Appliance Hostname
a.
Enter a new hostname for this virtual machine. You may enter an unqualified host name (such as “mycomputer”) 
or a fully-qualified domain name (such as “mycomputer.example.com”). A host name may contain letters, digits, 
and dashes (-).
b.
Press ENTER.
Notice that the first step now says, “Done.”
(1) Done : Appliance Hostname
Note: 
You
 
can re-enter the values of a “Done” item at anytime by re-choosing the item (typing its associated 
number) and then changing the value as needed.
2.
Type 2.
(2) Setup: Operating System Root Password
c.
Enter a new password for the Linux “root” superuser account.
d.
Press ENTER.
e.
Re-enter the password and press ENTER again.
Notice that the first step now says, “Done.”
(2) Done : Operating System Root Password
3.
Type 3.
(3) Setup: Administrator Password
f.
Enter a password for the Cisco IAC Management Appliance Administrator. This will also be the password for the 
operating system's “cisco” user.
g.
Press ENTER.
h.
Re-enter the password and press ENTER again.
4.
Type 4.
(4) Setup: Administrator Email
a.
Enter the email address for Cisco IAC Management Appliance Administrator. This is used as the sender address 
for all system-level email notifications.
b.
Press ENTER.
5.
Type 5.
(5) Setup: SMTP Server Hostname
a.
Enter the hostname or IP address for the SMTP server used for sending email messages.
b.
Press ENTER.
6.
Type 6.
(6) Setup: Application Server Password
