2. The caller can leave a message after the greeting message.
3. The caller presses MGNMBNM9N (pre-selected fax activation code).
R The unit will activate the fax function.
4. The caller presses the start button to send a document.
Note:
R To use this feature, make sure remote fax activation is turned ON (feature #434). The fax activation code can also
be changed.
R If there is no room left in the memory of your answering machine, the unit may not be able to receive documents.
See the operating instructions of the answering machine and erase unnecessary messages.
8.5.5 Caller ID y
For TW models:
This unit is compatible with Caller ID. Please be sure that both your line and the other party’s line support the Caller
ID function.
For models other than TW:
This unit is compatible with the Caller ID service offered by your local telephone company. To use this unit’s Caller
ID features, you must subscribe to a Caller ID service.
Important:
This unit will only display the caller’s telephone number and name.
This unit will not support future additional telephone services.
Depending on the service of the local telephone company, the date/time of the call or the caller’s name
may not be displayed.
This unit is Caller ID compatible. Caller ID service corresponds to ETSI ETS300659 standard and available
in 2 protocols: FSK and DTMF. In order to display caller phone numbers, you must subscribe to the
appropriate service of your service provider/telephone company. Consult your service provider/telephone
company for details.
This unit is not compatible with AOH service.
This unit is designed in accordance with DGT regulations and supports both DTMF and FSK Caller ID.
If the unit’s Caller ID features do not function properly, confirm that your phone line and the phone line of
the caller supports Caller ID. Consult your local telephone company for more information.

How Caller ID is displayed
The unit will automatically store caller information (name, telephone number and date and time of the call) from the
30 most recent calls. When caller information is received and it matches a telephone number stored in the unit’s
address book, the stored name will be displayed.
Note:
R If the unit is connected to a PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system, caller information may not be received
properly. Consult your PBX supplier.
R If the unit cannot receive caller information, the following will be displayed:
“OUT OF AREA”: The caller dialled from an area which does not provide Caller ID service.
“PRIVATE CALLER”: The caller requested not to send caller information.
“LONG DISTANCE”: The caller made a long distance call.
