When you view a picture/video or 
listen to a melody, the application 
(e.g. Camera, Messages, My stuff) starts 
the media player automatically. 
The media player functions are accessi-
ble via 4 tabs: 
Music
Pictures
Videos
 
and 
Bookmarks

Select tab. 
The media player contains files stored 
on the phone memory as well as files 
stored on the memory card (those files 
are marked). 
Music
The music tab includes MP3 and AAC 
files. For fast access, the tracks are sorted 
by the following categories: 
Playlists
: Display configured/new 
playlists (page 98).
Recent
: Display the 20 most recently 
played tracks (up to 25).
All tracks
: Display all saved tracks 
sorted by track name.
Playback
Select track/playlist 
(page 98) and confirm 
with
C
The playback is started. At the end 
of the track, the next track in the 
list/playlist is played automatically. 
The media player offers the following 
functions during music playback:

Playback/Pause depending 
on current state.
F
Press briefly: Skip to 
previous/next track.
Press and hold: Rewind/fast 
forward within the current 
track (for MP3).

Set the volume.
Create new playlist
You can order several tracks in playlists. 
Playlists
Select category at the top 
level of the music tab and 
confirm with

• An incoming call puts playback in the 
background automatically (page 28).
• You can use the Media player also if the 
slider is closed.
• See page 102 for possible media types.
If playback was started from another ap-
plication, e.g. My Stuff, playback stops at 
the end of the track.
