Rotate now the wiper of P1 and P2 middle position.

You can do a functional test as follows: If the temperature sensor is missing,
then in every case the red light-emitting diode LED2 (sensor break) should glow
upon the application of operating voltage. Connect now the terminal clamp X3 to
the temperature sensor KTY 81-220, depending upon the setting and
temperature, the yellow LED (relay) glows. Only upon the connection of the
intended thermistor (directly or via the corresponding feed line; a few metres are
easily possible) does the circuit react to the adjustments of the potentiometer R4.

Connect the sensor now short, the LED 3 “short-circuit” glows.

If till here everything is okay, then go to the fault checklist given below.
2.6
If the LEDs do not glow or glow constantly as expected, if the relay does not
switch or else any other function is not possible, then immediately cut off the
operating voltage and check the complete printed circuit board once again
according to the checklist given below.

Before you start with an examination of the printed circuit board, always
disconnect it from the mains.

Is the operating voltage of the auxiliary mains unit correctly polarised?
Is the operating voltage of the auxiliary mains unit connected to the correct
connection points? “+” at the plus-marking of D1 and “-“ at the minus-marking
of D1.

Have the resistors been soldered correctly in terms of value?
Check the values once again in accordance with 1.1 of the construction
guidelines.

Have the diodes been soldered with the correct polarity?
Does the cathode ring placed on the diode match with the imprint on the printed
circuit board? The cathode ring of D2 must point away from T1. The cathode ring
of D3 must point to R1.
