63. Different MAS units in a voice mail domain can have different
peer Domino servers.
Directory server
64. Different MAS units in a voice mail domain can have different
directory servers that are replicants of each other.
65. Each directory server can be a server of more than one voice mail
domain.
Capacity
66. An e-mail server can be a peer server for more than one MAS.
67. An e-mail server can be a host to more than one voice mail
domain.
68. A voice mail domain can have multiple e-mail servers.
69. A voice mail domain can contain a maximum of ten MAS units.
If a dedicated is used to host the Tracing Server, or Offline Call
Answer store, or both, this dedicated server does not count
toward the maximum MAS units supported.
Considering the proximity of the switch to e-mail message stores
When implementing a Modular Messaging—Microsoft Exchange or
Modular Messaging—IBM Lotus Domino configuration, planners must
consider the proximity of the e-mail message store to the switch or
communication servers.
Messaging Application Server (MAS) units must be located on the same
LAN as the message store. If the switch is at another location,
arrangements must be made to get the traffic from the remote switch to
the site with the e-mail server and MAS units. This can be accommodated
by extending communication facilities or by networking traffic from the
remote site(s) to a switch at the same location as the e-mail server and
MAS units.
Note: In a Modular Messaging—MSS system, the MAS units and
the MSS are on the same private LAN, and are at the same
location as the switch.
