Chapter 4. Working with 
L2230x Wide USB Port Replicator Monitor
 
Connect the USB Port Replicator for the monitor 
1.  Be sure to install the USB Port Replicator driver for L2230x Wide 
USB Port Replicator  
monitor on your computer. The driver name is “Usb_PR_Setup.exe".
   2.  Plug L2230x Wide USB Port Replicator monitor power cord, and power on L2230x Wide 
USB Port Replicator Monitor.
      
  3. Connect the USB B plug of the USB cable to the USB B receptacle connector on 
    L2230x Wide USB Port Replicator monitor.   
 
     
   4.  Connect the USB A plug of the USB cable to an available USB connector on the computer.
     
 
   
The system will automatically identify and configure the port replicator for 
L2230x Wide 
USB Port Replicator monitor.
 Then y
ou can connect devices to the 
appropriate 
connectors on the monitor. Normally it will take some time for the computer to recognize
 the new device. 
Note:  The settings you have configured for the port replicator will be 
retained each 
time you connect the computer to the port replicator. This 
feature is useful when you 
use your computer with multiple port 
replicators. For example, if you use a computer 
both at home and at work, you can set up both work areas with port replicators. Then, 
you just 
connect your computer to the port replicator at either location, and you are
 ready to work.   
Using the audio connectors   
The audio connectors on L2230x Wide 
USB Port Replicator monitor consists of one 
microphone connector (red) and one headphone connector (green). The audio connectors 
are automatically enabled when you have successfully connected the port replicator of L2230x 
 
Wide USB Port Replicator monitor and installed the device driver. However, if you can not 
hear anything from the headphones or speakers connected to the audio connectors, you 
can manually enable the audio connectors on the port replicator,do the following:  
1. Click 
L2230x Wide USB Port Replicator Monitor icon in the taskbar notification area.  
    
2. Select Audio. For Windows XP users, the Sound and Audio Devices 
Properties 
     window opens. For Windows Vista and Windows 7 users, the Sound window opens.
