Vibrate

Opens a dialog where you can set the phone to vibrate whenever you 
receive an email notification for this account, only when the phone is 
in Silent mode. or never.

Incoming settings

Opens a screen where you can configure settings for how you 
receive email for this account. See “Incoming server settings” on 
page 193.

Outgoing settings

Opens a screen where you can configure settings for how you send 
email from this account..

Sync contacts

For accounts that can sync contacts, check to sync contacts from 
this account to your phone. See “Configuring account sync and 
display options” on page 116.

Sync calendar

For accounts that can sync calendars, check to sync contacts from 
this account to your phone. See “Configuring account sync and 
display options” on page 116.

Incoming server settings

Your account’s incoming settings are different, depending on the 
kind of email service.

Settings for POP3 accounts:

Depending on the requirements of your email service 
provider, your full email address or just your username 
(that is, the part before @example.com in your email 
address).

The password for your email account.

The fully resolved domain name of your email service 
provider’s POP3 server, for example, pop3.example.com.

Set the Security type first to enter the typical server port 
number in this field automatically. Or enter a different 
port number if your email service provider requires it.
