If you have a toner vacuum, use it to remove all loose toner in the printer before
shipping it.

Removing Cables and Media
1.
Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the printer and power
source. Then, disconnect all attached interface cables.

Removing Toner Cartridges
1.
Pull the front cover side latches forward and pull the cover forward and down
(fig. 8.14). Then, hold the top cover on the right and left sides, lift up, and pull
back (fig. 8.15).

Remove the toner cartridge by grasping its handles and pulling it slowly out of
the printer (fig. 8.16).

Once you begin pulling the cartridge out of the printer, remove it completely. The
cartridge’s shutter may not open properly if the cartridge is pulled partially out and
then pushed back in the printer.
