This section contains the following sections with information that is specific to the Cisco 1900 series
integrated services routers:
Introduction
The Cisco 1900 series integrated services routers platforms are future-enabled with multicore CPUs,
Gigabit Ethernet switching with enhanced POE, and new energy monitoring and control capabilities
while enhancing overall system performance. Additionally, a new Cisco IOS Software Universal image
and Services Ready Engine module enables you to decouple the deployment of hardware and software,
providing a stable technology foundation that can quickly adapt to evolving network requirements. The
Cisco 1900 series integrated services routers offer embedded hardware encryption acceleration, optional
firewall, intrusion prevention, and application services. In addition, the platforms support the industry’s
widest range of wired and wireless connectivity options such as T1/E1, xDSL, 3G, and GE. The Cisco
1941W offers integration of IEEE 802.11n access point that is backward-compatible with IEEE
802.11a/b/g access points.
