Install the Alarm Manager Server Software
The instructions in this section guide you through the steps to install the Alarm
Manager server software. Choose one of the following options:
If you are upgrading an existing Alarm Manager server with a newer version of
Alarm Manager server software, you must first stop the server. Go to Stopping
the Alarm Manager Server (on page 47).
If you are installing Alarm Manager server software for the first time, go to
Installing the Alarm Manager Server Software (on page 48).
Stopping the Alarm Manager Server
Follow these instructions to stop the Alarm Manager server.
1 Is the DBDS EMS Server Administration window displaying on the Alarm

If yes, go to step 5.
If no, go to step 2.
2 From an xterm window on the Alarm Manager server, use the UNIX cd
command to change to the directory into which you installed the Alarm Manager
server software.
Example: If you installed the Alarm Manager software into the /export/home

directory, type cd /export/home and then press Enter.
3 Type ./EMS and then press Enter. The EMS Server Administration Login
window opens.
Important: Be sure to type the dot before typing /EMS.

4 Follow these instructions to log in to the Alarm Manager server.
a In the Login Name field, type System and then press Tab.
b In the Password field, type the system password.
c Click OK.
Result: The DBDS EMS Server Administration window opens.
