Start or Open a Guest Check
General Options
q START CHECK type keys opens new guest checks by
entering the server’s secret code then pressing the key.
There are two types of START CHECK keys:
•
START CHECK and START NO CHECK. These keys
are further defined by either cash drawer A or B.
The drawer assignment determines which cash
drawer opens when the check is tendered and which
cash drawer report is updated.
•
DELIVERY, DRIVE THRU, EAT IN, TAKE OUT open
new checks and flag them with a destination.
q {START~CHECK} and {START~NO~CHK} keys each have op-
tions A and B to correspond to the cash drawer used by
the server.
q Operations of the {START~CHECK} and {START~NO~CHK} keys
on Cashier/Bar Mode terminals depend on POS Option
#35, Start Check Key To Deassign Secret Code.
•
With POS Option #35 set to YES, the server’s secret
code must be entered each time a check is started.
•
With POS Option #35 set to NO, the {START~CHECK}
and {START~NO~CHK} keys remember the last secret
code # entered, so the secret code # entry is only
necessary to start the first check of the shift.
§
The corresponding {START~CHECK} and
{START~NO~CHK} keys (A or B) work together re-
membering the same secret code #.
§
To remove the secret code # from the key, in-
dex {ZERO} and press the appropriate
{START~CHECK} or {START~NO~CHK} key.
q POS Options, System Options Screen, Table or Check
Tracking applies to the entire system. (Set from CBase
