q If the process is not successfully completed, a message

will be displayed on the screen. In most cases, instruc-

tions will be given to resubmit the Batch Deposit.

q It is recommended that nothing be done on the PC Sys-

tem Controller while the Batch Deposit is in progress.

q If the Batch fails, the batch file is copied as a BAD his-

tory file. The screen will display the name of the BAD

file.

The naming convention is:

c:\pb\history\YYMMDDHH.BXX

•

All bad Batch Files are listed in \pb\pbindex.bad.

1. During a Batch Deposit, the FDS-CP defaults to submit-

ting the current Batch File, which is:

c:\pb\batch\pbbatch.dat

2. If a Batch fails, a message is returned from the credit

card processor. Make a note of the message along with

any code shown.

3. If the message indicates a communication failure, try

submitting the batch again. The screen will display:

The FDS will attempt to resubmit the bad batch, it will

not submit a subsequent current batch until the bad

batch is successfully sent, or a DELETE BATCH is

completed.

4. Contact the credit card processor. Be prepared with

your Merchant Account Number and all information re-

turned by the processor (message and code).

If, in fact the batch was successful but the response

was not correctly sent to the FDS, complete a

DELETE BATCH.

If the batch was not successful, the credit card

processor should be able to provide more

information.
