Practical Tips, Emergency Service
- Socket for the central nut under the front lid
Wheel change
f Have the wheel changed at an authorized
Porsche dealer.
f Do not attempt to loosen central nut with
conventional tools.
Because of the large breakaway torque as well as
the high tightening torque of the special central
nut, workshop equipment is necessary to change
a wheel.
(E.g. a torque wrench with 1 inch square, and at
least 550 Nm (407 ftlb.)).
 Warning!
Risk of damage to the brake discs of the
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB).
f When changing a wheel, make sure that the
brake discs are not damaged.
Socket
A suitable socket A for loosening or tightening the
central nut can be found in the compartment for
the roof panels under the front lid.
The socket is not suitable for impact or impulse
screwdrivers.
The tools required for changing a wheel (e.g. jack,
torque wrench) are not supplied with the car.
The socket is adjusted for the special teeth of the
central nut. To avoid damage, only this socket
may be used to loosen or tighten the central nut.
f When positioning the socket, ensure that it
engages fully in the teeth of the central nut.
f Always leave the socket in the compartment
for the roof panels so that it is always available
in the event of a flat tire.
