A - Arrow for loosening the central nut
Central nut
 Warning!
Risk of wheel separation, resulting in severe 
personal injury or death.
f Follow all instructions concerning the central 
nut.
The wheels are bolted to the wheel hub by a 
special central nut. 
The central nuts have right-hand thread on the left 
side of the vehicle and left-hand thread on the right 
side of the vehicle. 
To avoid mixing them up, the central nuts are 
color-coded: 
left side of vehicle – red
right side of vehicle – blue
Tightening torque
Tightening torque of central nut: 
550 Nm (407 ftlb.)
Loosening the central nut
The direction used to loosen the each nut is 
displayed by an arrow (A) on the central nut.
The central nut can only be loosened or 
tightened with a special tool as well as a 
special socket.
f Always clean the central nuts before fitting.
f After pushing on the wheel, spray the cone and 
thread surfaces of the rim, hub, and central nut 
exclusively with Mc Lube Sailkote High 
Performance Dry Lubricant
Never grease any parts.
 Warning!
Risk of damage and accident when the rim, 
hub, and central nut are maintained 
improperly.
f Only spray the rim, hub, and central nut when 
the wheel is pushed on. 
Contact surfaces between the rim and hub 
must not be sprayed.
f Only spray with Mc Lube Sailkote High Per-
formance Dry Lubricant.
If you use greases and lubricants other than 
the spray authorized by Porsche, your vehicle 
may no longer perform safely.
f When fitting the first time, or when replacing 
the central nut, rim, or wheel nut, the central 
nut must be tightened and loosened three 
times with the prescribed torque before the 
final tightening.
f Replace damaged central nuts. 
Only use the original central nuts specially 
designed for this vehicle type. 
Note on operation
f The Porsche torque multiplier can also be used 
to loosen and tighten the central nut.
