The uptime of the PDU indicates the length of time that the device has been functioning. When the Client
scans the local network and updates the device list, the PDU with the uptime reset will be marked a yellow
star icon.

P
ressing the Reset
button for 1 second can reset the PDU uptime. Do not press the reset button
over 4 seconds. Otherwise, all PDU settings will be reset to default state.

A device with recently reset is marked with a yellow star icon.

Troubleshooting the Client’s inability to communicate with the UPS, PDU:
z  Verify the device network address is correct.
z  Verify the network configuration in the device is correct. The Power Device Network Utility tool can be
used to configure the device network configuration. The tool can be installed from the tools folder on the
installation CD.
z  Verify the settings in Security/Authentication page are correct and match the settings of the device.
z  Check the network status of the UPS RMCARD/Agent/PDU and Clients.
Verify firewall settings. Port 3052(UDP/TCP), port 8443(TCP), port 162(UDP) and port 53566(UDP)
should be unblocked. The Client communicates with UPS/PDU on these ports. The installer will
automatically configure the Windows firewall to allow PowerPanel
®
 Business Edition access through the
firewall.

The following messages may be displayed:
z  The device address has changed to X.X.X.X. Client updated using the Auto Configure option. The
IP address of the UPS RMCARD/Agent/PDU has changed to a new one, and the Client has been
configured to match the new IP Address.
z  Make sure the device network configuration is accurate. An improper network configuration will
result in the loss of or failure of communication. To manually establish communication with the Agent, the
IP address of the Client computer can be assigned to Agent on the UPS/Load page in the Agent.
