SS7G21 and SS7G22 Signaling Servers Hardware Manual Issue 7
Note that for some geographic regions, and subject to limitations, the T1/E1 ports of SS7HDP boards in
SS7G22 products may be connected to “outside plant” signal conductors, and therefore become TNV-1
circuits. If your application needs to use these TNV-1 capabilities, then you must consult the Installation
Guide and Regulatory Notices of the SS7HDP for detailed information, including SAFETY WARNINGS, and
service instructions. In summary, these are the subjects to which attention must be paid:
Direct connection to “outside plant” signal conductors (metallic) is not approved in USA.
Direct connection to “outside plant” signal conductors (metallic) in Finland, Sweden, Norway, is
conditional on meeting “Additional Safety Requirements”.
The Top Cover of the product must be securely fastened at all times. For service operations, by Qualified
Service Technician, requiring removal of the Top Cover, all interface cords must be disconnected from
the telecommunications network.
Segregation of TNV and SELV cables.
The telecommunication interfaces of these products are described in

and
. The interfaces are primary rate telecommunications
(PCM) interfaces, configurable as T1 or E1 interfaces, with selectable line code and frame format. For
information on setting the product configuration, see the appropriate SS7G2x <Operating Mode> User
Manual
lists the various user manuals. The installer or
developer must ensure that the products are configured to give an implementation that complies with the
services offered by the local Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN) operator. Application developers
implementing supplementary services at the application level must ensure that their implementation
complies with the services offered by the local Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN) operator. In case of
doubt, network specifications must be consulted. In the European Union, the R&TTE Directive imposes that
each PSTN operator makes such specifications available.
The telecommunication (PCM) interfaces of the SS7 Signaling Boards have been successfully tested against
TBR12 and TBR13 when configured for E1 operation.
