4.  Center the objective over the specimen by 

loosening  or  tightening  the  screw  on  one 
side  of  the  objective  holder  while  turning 
the screw on the other side in the opposite 
direction.

 

The  following  configuration  only  has  to 
be  carried  out  once.  It  ensures  that  the 

specimen  remains  in  the  optical  center  when 
the objective is changed.

 

To attain optimum results for the follow-
ing  settings,  insert  a  graticule  into  the 

eyepiece. This makes locating the center vastly 
easier.

1.  Rotate  the  5×  planachromat  under  the 

beam path.

2.  Focus on the midpoint of the specimen.

3.  Rotate the stereo planachromatic objective 

under the beam path.
