Enhanced SATA Reliability and Performance
Key to the performance of the Adaptec
FS4100 JBOD are the dual active, failover/
failback intelligent controller modules,
providing up to 350 MByte/sec. The
controllers mask the SATA characteristics
of the drives, presenting them to the host
as Fibre Channel devices.

The Adaptec FS4100 maximizes SATA
drive reliability and performance through
enhanced thermal and rotational vibration
characteristics. The system boasts no
single point of failure with redundant,
hot-swappable components. Adaptec dual
channel multiplexer (DCM) technology
allows dual controllers to access each
SATA drive for non-disruptive availability.

Exceptional Scalability and Investment Protection
Each system supports up to 12 disk drives
or 3 TByte (using 250 GByte drives) in a
dense 2U form factor. This modular design
has additional investment protection with
a 3 Gbit ready midplane. As storage needs
grow, additional systems can be easily added
dynamically – up to a total of eight subsystems.
