ipv6 bgp neighbor remote-as
Assigns an AS number to the BGP peer. 
ipv6 bgp neighbor ipv6_address [remote-as num]
Syntax Definitions
ipv6_address
The 128-bit IPv6 address of the BGP peer. 
num
Autonomous system number in the range 1–65535.

Usage Guidelines
• A BGP peer created with the 
 command cannot be enabled until it is assigned an 
autonomous system number. If the AS number assigned to the peer matches the AS number of the local 
BGP speaker (assigned using the 
 command), the peer is considered inter-
nal to the local autonomous system. Otherwise, the peer is considered external to the local BGP 
speaker’s AS. 
• The BGP peer is restarted after issuing this command.
