office is ideal for teamwork - multiple users can work
simultaneously with the same documents. The task 
dependant structuring of the information is supported
via the freely defined views and the creation of logical
copies of the documents. The Check-In and Check-Out
functions ensure that simultaneous editing of the same
document does not cause conflicts. The central ELO
database allows the forwarding of documents to team
members during the processing. The Reminder Items
function ensures that important documents and processes
are not forgotten. Tasks can be assigned to oneself as
well as to colleagues and, when desired, ELO
office can
enter the events in an Outlook calendar. The entire list
of tasks can be viewed from one location providing a
complete overview.
High Level Scanning Functions 
Paper documents still make up the majority of information
in the office. In order that all documents can be 
stored in one medium, ELO
office  integrates powerful
scanning functions. The standardised TWAIN interface
allows scanners of varying cost and performance to be
utilised. Some of the larger hardware suppliers (Hewlett
Packard or Kyocera, for example) deliver special 
solutions with software bundles, which offer further 
advantages during the scanning process. Differing scan
profiles, picture processing or improvement and auto-
matic filing are some of the additional benefits ELO

offers when scanning documents.
Rapid Retrieval of Information
Searching for and retrieval of documents often 
requires considerable time and effort. ELO
office provides
powerful search functions, which save valuable working
time. The central component of the search function is a
powerful database, which provides rapid retrieval of the 
desired documents, even with large volumes of data.
ELO
office allows individual index and search forms to be
created which allow documents to be saved and retrie-
ved in a structured manner. With the full text 
search it is possible to search for terms not only in text
documents (DOC, PDF, etc) but also in graphical or
scanned documents (TIF). Searching for terms where an
exact grammatical match ist not known is possible
(Sounds like search), whilst search terms can be saved
and repeatedly utilised.
Flexible Data Transfer 
The Export/Import function is an important component
of ELO
office as it allows the transfer of documents bet-
ween different systems, for example other members of
the  ELO product range. This provides a high level of 
flexibility and also allows documents to be stored in 
external locations instead of in the ELO archive. With the
input of an optional lifespan date, or time, it is also 
possible to control when documents are removed from
the archive.
