Setting Speed Zones
For each sport, your Forerunner 301 contains several 
different speed zones, ranging from very slow to maximum 
speed. The values for these speed zones are entered by 
default and may not match your personal abilities. After you 
enter appropriate speed zones, you can use these zones to 
set your pace/speed alerts or use them as targets in advanced 
workouts. For more information, see “Basic Workouts” and 
“Advanced Workouts.”
To change your speed zones:
1.  Press 
mode to access Menu mode. Then highlight 
Settings and press enter.
2.  Highlight the sport you want to change speed zones 
for and press 
enter.
3.  Highlight 
Set Speed Zones and press enter
Select the speed zone you want 
to change. Then enter minimum 
and maximum pace/speed values. 
(“Other” sport mode shown.)
4.  Highlight the zone you want to change and press 
enter. Enter a minimum pace/speed for that zone 
and select 
OK. Then enter a maximum pace/speed 
for that zone and select 
OK.
5.  Repeat step 4 for each zone you want to change.
