Configuring TCP/IP or UDP Plus on the Intermec Computer
Before you can run the dcBrowser client, you need to configure your
Intermec computer for networking and then configure dcBrowser to use
either TCP/IP or UDP Plus.
You need to perform these tasks:
• Configure the Intermec computer for networking.
• Configure the Intermec computer for TCP/IP or UDP Plus
communications.
To configure an Intermec computer for networking
1
Select Start > Settings > Control Panel. The Control Panel appears.
2
Double-tap Network and Dial-up Connections.
3
Double-tap the network adapter you are using for your network
configuration. For example, use the 802.11b PRISM Wireless LAN
adapter if your network is configured with an 802.11b wireless access
point.
4
If you are using a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server,
select Obtain an IP address via DHCP.
If you are not using a DHCP server, select Specify an IP address and
enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for your mobile
computer. Your network administrator should provide you with this
information.
5
(Optional) On the Name Servers tab, enter the IP addresses for the
primary and secondary DNS servers and for the primary and secondary
WINS servers.
6
Tap OK.
7
Tap the X button in the upper right corner of the screen.
8
If your network is configured for wireless 802.11, double-tap the
Wireless Network icon.
