Point-To-Point Protocol
Point-To-Point Protocol (PPP) establishes the connection between the Office and Remote Modules to enable
sending and receiving data transmission with the office’s LAN. The only parameters that are configurable
are related to PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) and CHAP (Challenge Handshake Authentication

Configuring PPP
From the Main Menu of the terminal configuration menu, select Configure Data. The Configure Data menu
appears. Select number 3 for Configure PPP.

STAC Compression
Stac compression is used to compress and uncompress Ethernet data, effectively increasing the data band-
width. The EXTender can be configured to use Stac LZS compression (RFC 1974) on data packets to be sent
across the ISDN link.
