Environmental Monitoring
The Bicolor LED on the the disk drives only flashes Red when a disk drive is 
present and bypassed, or present and the Fibre Channel loop has failed. The 
bicolor LEDs on the disk drive carrier will not flash Red if a disk drive is not 
present. If the drive is not communicating on one loop and the other loop has 
failed then the LED will flash intermittently between Red and Green.
Power Supply Carrier LEDs
The power supply (both AC and DC) for the disk drive shelf has two LED indica-
tors (see Figure 4-6)

These power supply status LEDs function as follows:
The green LED on the top is the power supply status indicator. This LED is 
driven by the power supply.
The Red LED on the bottom is the power supply failure LED. It is normally 
off. If a failure has occurred, this LED turns on steadily or flashes at regular 
intervals. This LED is driven by the VEM. See Table 4-2 for the meaning of 
the LED patterns.
