Resolved Caveats for Cisco MeetingPlace IPGW Release 5.2
Multiple IP Gateways
You can deploy multiple Cisco MeetingPlace IPGWs against a single Cisco MeetingPlace 8100 series
system to provide load balancing and system redundancy. Calls are routed round-robin to the IPGWs. If
one IPGW fails, calls that are in session will fail; however, new callers will be routed to an alternate
IPGW to connect with the Cisco MeetingPlace Audio Server.
Registration, Admission, and Status Support
Registration, Admission, and Status (RAS) is part of the H.323 protocol, and RAS manages IP devices
through registration with a gatekeeper. Though typically not required for Cisco CallManager or other
call processing systems, RAS may be needed for integrated IP video. Cisco MeetingPlace IPGW can
now support registration requirements on an IP network.

CR19346
Symptom: End user on IP phone hears fast busy when PSTN phone leaves the meeting.
Condition: During a meeting with participants on both PSTN phones and IP phones, participants on
IP phones may hear a brief dial tone when participants on PSTN phones leave the meeting.
CR21849
Symptom: Ringing to IP phone does not stop when the caller disconnects.
Condition: When a user outdials to an IP phone but then disconnects the call before the phone is
answered, the IP phone may continue to ring for an additional minute. If the phone is answered
during this period, the call disconnects or the participant hears a fast busy tone.
CR22561
Symptom: IP services need to be restarted twice to run properly after an upgrade.
Condition: After upgrading the MeetingPlace IP Gateway, the MeetingPlace IP Gateway service
may need to be stopped, then started a couple times to properly handle IP calls.
CR22463
Symptom: MeetingPlace icon is missing in the taskbar.
Condition: After installing Cisco MeetingPlace IP Gateway service, the Cisco MeetingPlace icon in
the taskbar may be missing.
Workaround: The icon can be recovered by running MPLaunch.exe, which is located in the
Cisco MeetingPlace Gateway SIM folder.
