Verifying that the Fan Tray Works Correctly
Step 1
Verify that the fans are active by listening for at least some minimal fan noise.
Step 2
Verify that the fans in the fan tray are moving air by doing both of the following:
a.
Place a small piece of paper on the left side of the Cisco MeetingPlace system (as you face the front
of it). Ensure that the paper moves toward the fan vent.
b.
Place a small piece of paper on the right side of the Cisco MeetingPlace system (as you face the front
of it). Ensure that the paper moves away from the fan vent.
Step 3
Verify that the fans are not too loud and do not make any noises that might indicate bad bearings. If you
hear anything louder than a hum, this might indicate that one or more of the fans in the fan tray are bad.
If you experience this, contact Cisco TAC.
Verifying that You are Connected
Step 1
Ensure that all the gateways work. See the Administrator Guides for the specific gateways for
information on determining that they are working correctly.
Step 2
Ensure that you can call into the Cisco MeetingPlace system and attend a meeting. If you cannot call
into the Cisco MeetingPlace system and attend a meeting, try reseating the fan tray. If that does not work,
contact Cisco TAC.
