network traffic passed between these endpoints and servers scales
up with conference sizes. This is the reason that most fully-
featured T.120 endpoints (e.g., Microsoft NetMeeting) have
usability limitations in the presence of larger numbers of
participants attending over very slow links.
Larger-Sized Conferences
As conference size scales beyond 12 to 15 participants, T.120
applications like NetMeeting are limited (e.g., maximum of 32
participants in a single web conference).
MeetingPlace WebShare, a Java-based endpoint, is more suitable
for larger-sized conferences and dial-up environments. Hundreds
of WebShare participants can attend a single web conference
when the MeetingPlace Web server is properly sized and
sufficient bandwidth is available.
Displaying Flex Fields
Flex fields are customized profile and meeting fields that enable
unique business information, such as your company’s name or a
user’s department number, to be included in reports. Up to three
profile and three meeting flex fields can be created on your
system.
Flex fields can only be created by a system manager using
MeetingTime, and each field can be configured to be editable by
users, read-only, or invisible to users. If you chose to display a
flex field to other users, the field appears in the scheduling and
profile management sections of MeetingTime and MeetingPlace
Web.
For information on creating and configuring flex fields, refer to
your MeetingPlace System Manager’s Guide.
